He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Malott and Edith Margaret Gibson Malott; his wife Patricia Allen Malott; and his siblings, William, Jack, Mary and Shirley.

He is survived by: his children, Scott Malott (Kiyomi) of Panama City, Jeffrey Malott (Gayle) of Panama City and Holli Smith (Terry) of Knox. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 step- great grandchildren.
