He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman E. Taylor and Alberta Taylor (Terrell); his son Darrin E. Taylor; his sister Pauline Richey; and his son-in-law John W. Hughes.

He is survived by: his wife Geneva Taylor (Williams); his daughters, Karen Suddarth (Scott), Dawn Newby (Brian), Rhonda Hughes, Kim Taylor (Jeff Schneck) and Cheryl Brishaber (Rondale); and his sister Maxine Sales. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
