She was predeceased by: her parents, Nolan Smith and Addie Smith (Heinize); her husband Charles Russell Oakes; her children, James Oaks, Jonathon Smith, Betty Sue Oakes and Barbara McKnight; and her sister Patricia Butler.
She is survived by: her children, Albert Oakes (Sonja) of Salem, Indiana, Mary Kathleen Hayes (Mike) of Henryville, Indiana and Linda Elaine Quillen (Ralph) of Pekin, Indiana; and her siblings, Donald Smith of Georgetown, Indiana and Martha Owen of Georgetown, Indiana.. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
