He was predeceased by: his parents, George Coomer and Mildred Coomer (Matthews); and his son Steve Coomer. He is survived by: his wife Burma Coomer (Pendleton); his children, Teresa Fitch (Frank), Tina Lewis (Tony), Rick Coomer (Shonna) and Melissa Weber (Matt); and his siblings, Donald Coomer, Aileen McNew, Margie Slusser and Linda LaDuke. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
