He is survived by: his wife Annita Smith Carter; his children, Brian Carter of Salem, Bradley Carter of Salem and Tina Dean of Salem; his brothers, Richard Carter of Oklahoma and Steve Carter of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Joshua Carter and Justina Bierly; and his great grandchildren, Brennan Collins, Myles Tatlock, Thatcher Tatlock, Kaelynn Carter and Amelia Carter.
