He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Girod and Emmie Girod (Yoder); and his sons, Andy, John and Jonathan.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Girod (Byler); and his children, Jake (Delilah), Emma (Emanuel), Sam (Mary), Lizzie (Rudy), Eli (Mandy), Ernest (Lucy), Ben (Rosie), David (Elma), Jerry (Melinda), Melinda (Joe), Aden (Mary), Amos (Ann), Simon (Christine), Emanuel (Mandy), William (Becky), Reuben (Delilah), Mattie (Martin), Jakie (Mary) and Susie (Emanuel). He is also survived by 157 grandchildren; and 517 great grandchildren.
