Constance C. Gartland Obituary

Constance C. (Carter) Gartland, 95, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday in Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine. She was born in Rome, New York to the late Arnold and Gretta (Barretta) Carter. She married Francis "Bud" X. Gartland, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Francis X. "Bud" Gartland, Jr.; daughter, Mary (Ronald) Vielee, Marion; sons, Michael F. (Victoria) Gartland, Phoenix, Ariz., Francis X. (Judee) Gartland, LaPorte, Patrick J. (Susie) Gartland, Marion, Thomas J. Gartland, Phoenix, Ariz., and Joseph C. (Melissa) Gartland, Sidney, Ohio; sisters, Rita Ormsby, Mich. and Patricia Ervin, Sweetser; brother, Jack Carter, Kokomo; 23 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Arnold J. Carter; sisters, Vera Lanning, Sarah Roberts, Anne Dailey and Gretta Cummings. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Dan Gartland officiating. Burial will be at Estates of Serenity in Marion.
