He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Linus Vaal and Irene Vaal (Loehrlein); his wife Carol A. Waninger (Waninger) of Fulda; his children, David Vaal (Tricia) of Santa Claus, IN, Brian Vaal (Pam) and Brenda Smith (Michael) of Haubstadt, IN; his daughter-in-law Denise Vaal Stetter of Derby, IN.; his grandchildren, Ryan Vaal (Abby), Courtney Heberer (Burgess), Aaron Smith (Taryn), Adam Smith (Stephanie), Jason Vaal (Haley), Alex Smith, Garret Vaal, Gracelyn Durham (Trent), Andrew Smith and Gavin Vaal; his great grandchild Eleanor Heberer; his siblings, Gene Vaal (Mary Lou) of St. Meinrad and Linda Mehringer (Sam); and his son Glenn Vaal.
