He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugo Lindauer and Lucille Lindauer (Wiederkehr); his wife Myrna Lindauer of St. Meinrad; his children, Robert Lindauer (Gucci) of Everett, WA, Mark Lindauer (Angela) of Norfolk, VA, LaDonna Mathena (Kirk) of Ferdinand and Brenda Boehm (Tim) of Ferdinand; and his siblings, Rosie Bender (Werner) of Jasper, Richard Lindauer and Marion Harpenau. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
