Selma Backer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Selma Backer of Saint Meinrad, Indiana, who passed away on January 31, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alois Sitzman and Theresa Sitzman (Mayer); her husband John M. Backer; and her brothers, Harold, Robert, Edmond and Claude Sitzman.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Backer (Suzette) of Patoka, Jim Backer (LeeAnn) of St. Meinrad, Kathy Riedford (Rick) of Evansville, Debbie Voges (Ronnie) of Tell City, Jennifer Glaser (Lawrence) of Louisville and Nancy Poehlein (Maurice) of Tobinsport. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Isidore Parish.
