He was predeceased by: his parents, John Metzcus and Louise Metzcus; his sister Mary Anzelmo; his mother-in-law Mary Gies (Sweeney); and his brother-in-law Daniel Lovell.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lina Metzcus (Gies); his brother Richard Metzcus (Marsha); his sisters-in-law, Sharon Lovell and Susan McAuliffe (Michael); his children, John, Jr. Metzcus (Laura), Mary Kay Ricciardi (Dean), Dan Metzcus (Serina), Elly Charles (Jeff) and Meg Fiorio (Joey); his grandchildren, Katie Metzcus, Dean, Ryan Ricciardi, John Metzcus, Matt, Chris, Greg Charles, Emily, Sarah and Jack Fiorio; and his great grandchild Kalianna McCall. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
