He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophie Blahunka (Szkopiec) and Steve Blahunka; and his nephew Shane. He is survived by: his children, Paul (Marcie) and Laura Dinger (Nathan); his grandchildren, Nora, Grayson Blahunka and Cameron Dinger; his close friend Sharon Oldanie (Maggie Blahunka) of Orland Park, IL; his brothers, Steve (Jo) of Pinehurst and Ted (Debbie) of Hebron, IN; and his nieces and nephews, Garrett Blahunka, Vince Blahunka (Meg) and Arlyn Eaglebarger (David).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Name Church (11000 W 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Calumet Park Cemetery (2305 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410).
