He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert D. Turpen and Barbara Skinner Turpen; his wife Shirley; his siblings, Deanna K. Fales and David E. Turpen; and his former wife Martha Turpen.
He is survived by: his daughter Allisha Staten (Nicholas); his stepchildren, Serena Gasche and Christopher McHaley; his grandchildren, Adeline Gasche and Max Gasche; and his sister Debbie Turpen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
