He is survived by: his wife Karen Wheat; his sons, Vernon Dowell of Brandenburg, KY, Ronald Wheat, Jr. and Jason Wheat (Laura); his sister Sarah Smith of Jasper, IN; his brother-in-law Estel Hensley of Doolittle Mills, IN; his brother Jim Roettger of Stendal, IN; his grandchildren, Ronald Wheat III, Kristin Wheat, Gideon, Harley and Noah; and his great grandchildren, Ronald Wheat IV, Greyson, Tanner and Sadie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
