He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Berg and Frieda Berg (Schnell); and his siblings, Betty Ann Berg and Richard Berg. He is survived by: his wife Eloise R. Hopster; his daughters, Shelly Wilgus (Ron) and Kristy Bayer (Brian); his grandchildren, Kyle, Jared Wilgus, Trent and Taylor Bayer; and his siblings, Mary Frey, Larry Berg (Alene) of St. Anthony and Thomas Berg (June) of St. Anthony.

Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, or to a favorite charity.
