He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmas Evans and Berneice Evans (Robertson); his wife Carol R. Avery; his siblings, Max Evans and Doris Johnson; and his granddaughter Amber Caine.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kandas Caine and Kimberly Evans; his grandchildren, William Bolton (BrittLee), Christopher Bolton, Bridget Cordero (Javier), Sabrina Caine (Dickey Bolen) and Amanda Gifford (Joe); his great grandchild Mya Bolton; and his sister Nancy Schoff (Gerry). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
