He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thompson and Gloria Thompson (Roberts); his parents-in-law, Murline McGough and Jerry Hopkins; and his brother Delbert Parham.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy Thompson (Marini); his sons, Casey Thompson (Michele Thompson) and Scotty Marini; his grandchildren, Alexis Marini, Jacey Lowe and Nicholas Taylor (Morgan); his great grandchildren, Lucas, Lorelei and Emmie; and his siblings, William (Rita), Kim Hulben (Stan), Dave (Trish Potts), Kelly Hall (Charlie), Mike Evans (Sheila), Howard Birdsong, Tim Glassburn (Sandy) and Mike Harrison (Debbie).
