He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin McCarty and Florence McCarty (Hatfield); his wife Eleanor (Bednarski); his children, William McCarty and Pam Tellas; and his siblings, Philip McCarty, Mary Robertson, Shelia Cross, Opal Deloris Frazier and Lou Foster.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas McCarty (Kim) and Cheryl Kinslow (Douglas) of Morristown; and his siblings, John McCarty (Onita), Charles Ray "Butch" McCarty (Janet), Charlotte Stevens, Phyllis Frazier and Blanche "Bonnie" Glover. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
