He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles C. Moffatt and Bessie Moffatt (Goodpastor); his wife Shirley Ann Moffatt (Patterson); and his siblings, Ermal Young, Lois Anderson, Nellie Creech, Daisy Steven, Roberta Mills, Mary Bennett, Geneva Cowan, Loretta Hall, Charles Wayne Moffatt, Ray Moffatt and Chester Moffatt.
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Moffatt of Switz City, IN; his grandchildren, Chad Hassler (Maggie) and Rhonda Lynn (Sims); and his great grandchildren, Decon Thomas Kaiser and River LeRoy Kaiser.
