It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald R. Porter (Rushville, Indiana), born in New Castle, Indiana, who passed away on May 10, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard C. Barton and Martha M. Porter Barton (Bell); his stepfather F. Randall Barton; his parents-in-law, Robert C. "Bob" and Geneva Hammontree; his brother-in-law Robert C. "Chuck" Hammontree; his brother Melvin Barton; and his nephew Matthew Halcomb.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald G. Porter (Marian) of Knoxville, MD, Robert C. "Chuck" Porter (Susanna) of Unadilla, NE and Bradley S. Porter of Boulder, CO; his grandchildren, Riley, Emma Porter, Matthew, Jennifer and Kimberly Porter; his sisters, Rebecca McCormick of Charleston, SC, Regina Cummings of Columbus, IN and Susan (Elton Halcomb); and his sisters-in-law, Ednamae Bowman, Karen Skelton, Sandy Spencer and Lynda Warner. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Thank a teacher Fund thru the Rush County Community Foundation or thru USLA Bank to the Matthew E. Halcomb trust fund that was established to help care for Don's great nieces.
