He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilbert Ivan and Eleanor Funk (Winn); his stepmother Audrey Funk; and his siblings, Tom Funk and Pat Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Funk of Royal Center; his children, Deborah Roemer (Michael) of Knox, Richard "Carli" Berens Funk (Tracy) of Pittsboro and Jill Birmingham (John) of Enfield; and his foster brother Jeffrey Jarrard (DyAnna) of Logansport. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
