She was predeceased by: her parents, James Swank and Mae Swank (Blackburn); her former husband Ernest Layer; and her siblings, John Swank, Donnabelle Hinkle and Katheryn Caldwell.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Miller of Royal Center; her sons, Steve Layer (Sheryl) of Logansport, Gary Layer (Patty) of Argos and Mark Layer (Jennifer) of Royal Center; her stepson Mark Miller (Teresa) of Logansport; her siblings, Gene Swank (Carol) of Galveston, Robert Swank (Bonnie) of New Jersey, Jerry Swank (Kathy) of North Carolina, Etta Byers of Camden, Ruth Swank of Logansport and Nina Holle Logansport (Richard); her sister-in-law Pat Hughes of Logansport; her grandchildren, Kenny, Chris, Jessica, Sarah, Ryan, Jennifer, Benjamin, Jacob, Joshua and Micaela; and her stepgrandchildren, Tony, Tara, Jami, Trent and Shaun. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandson.
