He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Knop and Ruth Knop (Keller); and his siblings, Don and Elizabeth. He is survived by: his spouse Mellisa Metzger; his sons, Dr. David A. "Dak" (Tara), Derek Knop (Erika) and Demetrius Knop (Jacinda); and his grandchildren, Aleyna, Annabelle, David III (Trey), Dylan, Davis, Dane and Dash. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
