He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis R. and Mary A. Costello (Thomas); his wife Kathleen Hogan; his son Joseph Costello; his son-in-law Claude Balestra; and his brother Thomas Costello.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Balestra of Fort Wayne, Patrick Costello (Val) of Dublin, OH and Molly McCrory (Mark) of Fort Wayne; his grandchildren, Alex Balestra (Ali), Sam Costello, Elizabeth Balestra, Max McCrory and Maddie McCrory; and his great grandchild Penelope Jo Balestra.
Preferred memorials are to Masses at St. Gaspar, the Sylvan Lake Improvement Association, or the Rome City Orange Township Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a kind gesture be made on Joe's behalf.
