He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Shipley and Mary Shipley (Manuel); his wife Margaret "Peg" Shipley of Rome City; his children, Scotta Imbody (Jacob) of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Sam Shipley of New Castle; his stepchildren, Beth Westgaard of Sarasota, Joe Glant of Warsaw, Troy Glant of Warsaw and Mitch Glant (Donna) of Warsaw; his grandchildren, Kyle Carpenter and Kenzie Carpenter; and his stepgrandchildren, Myranda Glant, Delaney Glant and Brooke Glant.
