She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Holdeman and Hazel Holdeman (Bates); her husband A. George Burkus; her sister Lillian Thompson; and her brothers-in-law, Charles Thompson and Larry Landy (Jinx).
She is survived by: her children, David Burkus (Bette) and Karen Frazier (David) of La Porte, IN; her grandchildren, Gregory Alberding (Amanda), Nicole Sukenick, Bryan Burkus, Karley Kinsey (Kevin) and Kate Kortz (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Alex, Garen, Ben, Nico, Lyla Rose and Noah; and her ten extra blessings, Grace, Kolby, Christian, Kara, Weston, Delaney, Amelia, Silus, Caydan and Kelsey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Haverstock Funeral Home (602 Maple Ave, La Porte, IN 46350). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:30 PM and at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. And her last words were "Go Irish"!Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Doris' name.
