He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Pettigrew; and his sons, Gene Pettigrew and Sam Pettigrew. He is survived by: his siblings, Thelma Gadient, Carl Patrick Pettigrew, Martha Jane Simpson, Vera June Hartwell, William Joe "Bill" Pettigrew and Ray Dean Pettigrew. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
