He was predeceased by: his father Melvin D. Lindley; and his father-in-law Charles Thompson. He is survived by: his mother Janet Cope Lindley; his wife Chrissy Thompson Lindley; his brother Dennis Lindley of Indianapolis; his mother-in-law Nancy Thompson Powers (Delbert) of Paducah, Kentucky; his sister-in-law Jessica Thompson of Terre Haute; his uncles, Phil (Joyce Humphreys), Ronald Cope of Marshall and Howard Lindley (Sue Owensby) of Kingman; and his aunt Jo Ann Linn of Greencastle. He is also survived by several cousins and friends.
