He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Y. Detweiler and Lizzie Hosteter Detweiler. He is survived by: his wife Katie Zook Detweiler; his children, Martha Peachey (Jacob) of Rockville, Rudy Detweiler (Lena) of Rockville and Lavina Kanagy (David) of Rockville; and his siblings, Samuel Detweiler of Allenville, Pennsylvania, Jessie Detweiler of Allenville, Pennsylvania and Sarah Zook of Allenville, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.
