He was predeceased by: his father Lester R. Nugent; his wife Marsha Nugent; and his brothers, Lester "Sonny" Nugent Jr., Lloyd Nugent and Luke Nugent.

He is survived by: his son Chris Nugent; his granddaughters, Breanna Nugent and Brittany Brumfield; his great grandchildren, Clara Jo and Addy; and his close friend Bobbie York. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
