He was predeceased by: his parents, Gifford W. Scales and Ellien Leoda Scales (McFall); his wife Pearl Scales; and his siblings, Paul Scales and Jerry Scales.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Beard (Terry), Danny Scales (Jane) and Tammy Sosh (Mike); his grandchildren, Stephanie, David, Jennifer, Danny, Christy and Amanda; his brother Doyle Scales; and his close friend David Erwin. He is also survived by 15 Great-grandchildren.
