He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gerald N. Runkle and Nancy Duff Runkle; his wife Jamie; his children, Leigh Anne Runkle, Joshua Runkle (Amanda) of Rochester and Evan Runkle of Rochester; his grandchildren, Jaxon Kenneth Runkle, Lillian Mae Gerald and Wesley James Gerald; and his brother Kevin Runkle (Violet) of Columbia City.
