He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Beulah Russell Barkman Peterson and Clarence Cleveland Peterson; his wife Martha Ann Coplen; his granddaughter Elaine; his children, Matthew Peterson (Elizabeth Rambeau) of Pittsburgh and Elaine Goebel (Ernie) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Sophie of Pittsburgh, Ben of Pittsburgh and Ellie Peterson of Pittsburgh; and his siblings, Chloris Barkman and Maleta Borden. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Fulton County Historical Society.
