He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Wisel and Gertrude Wisel (VanMeter); and his siblings, Kenneth, Charles, Louis Jr., Jess Wisel, Geraldine Redding, Evelyn Wisel and Hillis Colchin.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Lou Fox; his wife Joan Myers Crow; his children, Holly Tarr (Dave) of Roanoke, Sherry Haag (Jim Pepple) of Fort Wayne, Amy Kite (Glenn) of Fort Wayne and Dan Wisel (Kathleen) of Roanoke; and his stepdaughters, Linda Hoch (Joe) of Roanoke, Patti Fritz (Rick) of Roanoke, Karen Switzer (Mike) of Roanoke and Debbie Sutton of Roanoke. He is also survived by 8 Step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren.
