It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Marie Haifley of Roanoke, Indiana, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward Ehrman and Elsie Ehrman (Berghoff); her husband Eugene B. Haifley; her sons-in-law, Mike Houser and Tom Smith; and her great grandchild Abbie Little.

She is survived by : her children, Mary Little (Charles) of Wolcottville, IN, Debbie Johnson (Rex) of Huntington, IN, Martha Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, Patricia Didier (Philip) of Fort Wayne, IN, Rita Donley (Kevin) of Fort Wayne, IN, James Haifley (Julie) of Roanoke, IN and John Haifley (Ellen) of Spencerville, IN. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 87 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, July 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the D. O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes (8325 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (10700 Aboite Center Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eternal World Television Network (EWTN) or Heart of the Nation.
