She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Danny DeWeese. She is survived by: her parents, Pablo Avila and Maria Elena Fahl (Deluna); her siblings, Laura Avila of Fort Wayne, Alma DeWeese of Warren, Gloria May (Richard) of Fort Wayne and Miguel Avila of California; and her nieces and nephews, Uriah DeWeese, Sierra Holloway, Jadyn Holloway, Aiden DeWeese, Marciano Avila, Leo May and Barrett May.

She also participant in actions to point out health inequities and call for medical care for those S/SE Fort Wayne. She was an amazing activist for justice and the care of all.
