With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John F. Ocken Jr. of Roanoke, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ocken and Bernice Ocken (Ketter); his wife Carole R. Banet; his daughter Veronica Hoover; and his brother Bob Ocken.
He is survived by: his children, John "Jay" Ocken (Lyn) of South Whitley, IN and Amy O. Ellet (Andy) of Huntington, IN; his siblings, Tom Ocken of Albuquerque, NM and Mary Hess (Michael) of Roanoke, IN; and his grandchildren, AJ, Jacob, Jarrett, Justine, Jacklyn, Jhett and Jackson.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel (240 Crestwood Dr, Roanoke, IN 46783). Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (641 N Main St, Roanoke, IN 46783). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery N. Roanoke (641 N Main St, Roanoke, IN 46783).
