He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Smith and Leona Smith (Branstrator); and his siblings, Michael Smith, Vonda Fearnow, Paula Stoltz and Elisa Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Lyn Blumer; his children, Tyron G. Smith (Heather) of Highland, IN, Ryan W. Smith (Nichole Karst) of Roanoke, IN and Nikkole "Nikki" Smith-Jones of Huntington, IN; his siblings, Kent Smith of Roanoke, IN and Emily Powers (Bill) of Brighton, MI; his grandchildren, Austin P. Smith (Josie), Elijah Smith, Maycee J. Smith, Brian Smith, Nicholas Solloway, Kenadie Jones and Cooper Jones; and his great grandchild Olive Drake Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to either Stillwater Hospice or Riley Children's Hospital in care of McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN 46783.
