It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lela Richards (Rising Sun, Indiana), born in Vevay, Indiana, who passed away on August 2, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Land (Woodruff) and James W. Henderson; her husband John Richards; and her siblings, Leland "Dubby" Henderson, Larry Henderson and Geneva "Dolly" Mosley.
She is survived by: her children, Rex Allen Richards of Rising Sun, IN, John W. Richards (Maritza) of Noblesville, IN, Annette Richards (Eugene Marsh) of Rising Sun, IN and Melissa "Missy" Davis (Odis) of Rising Sun, IN; her brother Herbert Henderson (Barbara) of Rising Sun, IN; and her grandchildren, Jessica, John, Ashley, Lela, Krystal, Hannah, Spencer, Hayley, Isabelle and Alex. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or First Baptist Church of Rising Sun. The family would also like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of St. Elizabeth Dearborn for the excellent and compassionate care they received.
