He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Messer (Blackburn) and Blaine Messer; and his sister Melba Henson. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Messer (Lawson) of Rising Sun, IN; his sons, Brian Messer of Rising Sun, IN, Ryan Messer (James) of Zurich, Donald Messer (Sharon) of East Enterprise, IN and Billy Steelman (Deanna) of Rising Sun, IN; his siblings, Rick Messer of Jensen, UT, Rodney Messer of Rising Sun, IN and Fern Browning of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Traci (Joe), Kayla (Jeremy), Cody (Jasmine), Blaine, Nicholas, Ben, Caleb, Anderson, Olivier, Lillian and Rocco; and his great grandchildren, Makenzie Walston, Landon Walston, Shawn Lack and Kyzer Lack.
