He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Judy Gabbard Hall; his wife Dorothy Hall; his stepdaughters, Linda Lee Philbeck and Joyce Mullins; his son-in-law Homer Philbeck; his siblings, Clarence, Charles, Elick, Harlan, Talt Hall, Stella, Virgie, Alberta Dees, Opal Whitehead, Edna Smith and Etta Raper; and his stepbrothers, Johnny, Bradley, Bill and Marion Baker.
He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Nicholas and Ethan; and his grandchildren, Richmond, Russell Owens, Steve Philbeck and Lora Philbeck Ingram.
