Wayne LaTell Mays Obituary
Wayne LaTell Mays 55, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1968, in Richmond, IN to Mildred Marie Bennett Brown. His mother met and married his "Pops" John W. Brown when he was six years old.
He was a member of the formerly established Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and baptized on June 10, 2012.
He graduated and received a certification in Cosmetology and a licensing in Barbering from Kenny's Academy of Barbering on June 16, 2013. He was the proprietor and owner/operator of Wahid's Custom Cuts. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Reidman Motors in Connersville, IN. LaTell's hobbies included his social media website "Tru2It Entertainment", detailing automobiles, fishing with his best friend Katherine Burnett, listening to music and cooking. LaTell's interest was always vested in being with family. He loved all his children and family. LaTell had a strong belief and faith in God and frequented church often. He had a smile that would radiate a room and he loved to laugh and tell jokes.
He leaves to cherish his memory six daughters Samantha Gibson, Keri and Kelly Harmon, Chantle and Gabriel Candy, and Tasiah Aponte. Two sons Jalen Duncil and Jeffrey Paradise.
Four stepchildren Kaylyn, Sierra, Taylor and Diamond Eversole.
Eight grandchildren Drakko Paradise, Qwindal, Qwincy and Qwinn Candy, David (DJ) Lucas III, Xzavier Sanchez, Damarion Coble and Amari Tevis.

Seven Sisters Mary "Molly" Thomas, Whitney "Dian" Mays (Jason), Genia "Rene" Demery, Faith R. Starks, Chivas J. Mays, Charlotte Ferguson and Regina Evans. Two brothers Tony R. (Barbara) Arter and B. Robert (Cassidy) Mays.
Two Aunts Marjorie "Star" Bennett and Elmira "Deenie" Bennett and a host of other relatives and friends. Special friends John Carter and Bobby "Ray" Benton.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Howard Burton and Mary Lou Bennett, Uncles Odell, Robert "Bobby", Burton and Duane Bennett, Aunts Lottie Mae Bibbs and Elenetha Bennett.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Wayne County First Responders, Reid Memorial Hospital, Fountain Place Apartments and Community Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 12 Noon. Family and friends may call Saturday at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
