He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hayes and Catherine Hayes; his stepchildren, Martin Wilkinson and Deana Spencer; and his brother William Hayes.
He is survived by: his spouse Harcil Hayes; his son Thomas Hayes Jr.; and his sister Roxie Ann Swanson. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
