It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Dorton of Richmond, Indiana, who passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Everman and Carrol Reed Everman; her former husband Darrell Townsend; and her half-brother Roger Gatland. She is survived by: her husband Gayle Dorton; her children, Jesse Townsend (Kristie) of Richmond and Sally Darnell (Dwayne) of Ft. City; her stepson Michael Townsend (Jane) of Connersville; her grandchildren, Tanner, Elijah, Paisley, Madilynn, Lucas, Nathan, Brandon and Brooke; and her sister Rebecca Pipenger of New Madison. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home (222 N 10th St, Richmond, IN 47375). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
