She was predeceased by: her parents, Verlin Howard (Mary Frances Smith Mantooth) and Richmond; her husband Ned Witt; her son James L. Thompson Jr.; and her sister Joyce Elaine Gray.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Coe, Lisa Holt (Tracy), Loretta Thompson (Randy Lackey), Charles Thompson, Brenda Clevenger (David), Jennie Bennett and Bonnie Hoff. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
