She was predeceased by: her parents, Miles Shlangen and Edna Kendall Shute Shlangen; her husbands, Cecil Carpenter and Herbie Stump; her granddaughter Candus Carpenter; and her sister Kay Carpenter.
She is survived by: her children, Warren Carpenter (Susan) of Richmond, Gary Carpenter (Rebecca) of Richmond and Sheila Thiel (Steve) of Fishers; and her grandchildren, Nikki Sugas (Chris Campbell), Jennifer Jennings (Joe), Brittney Rush (Cory), Amy Pipenger (Scottie), Olivia and Preston Thiel. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
