He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Garrett and Mabel Garrett; his grandparents, Tom, Lydia, Willie and Vida; and his siblings, Joy Elizabeth and Jerry.

He is survived by: his children, Patric, Belinda, Anthony, Mindy, Jerry Lee and Wendy; his grandchildren, Marc, Catherine, Lauren, Maggie, Owen and Carter; and his brothers, Randal, Jessie Lee and John L.. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews; four uncles; and twelve cousins.
