He is survived by: his wife Thelma Jean Hurley Oakes; his children, Tanya Welch and Matt Oakes; his stepdaughters, Teri Kuhlenbeck (Eric) and Lisa Focht (Scott); and his grandchildren, Christina White, Christopher Welch, Lena Oakes, Travis Kuhlenbeck, Damon Kuhlenbeck (Brittany), Mitchell Kuhlenbeck (Molly), Brett Kuhlenbeck, Jarrett Focht and Jim Focht (Rachel). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and many friends.
