It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard C Gongwer of Richmond, Indiana, who passed away on August 8, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Gongwer and Erma Long Gongwer; his brother Clayton Gongwer (Alice Gehr Gongwer) of Ashland; his wife Marilyn Sue Hilbert Gongwer; and his stepson Tom Hilbert of Henderson, Kentucky..
He is survived by: his son Scott Gongwer (Roberta) of Acton; his grandsons, Russell Gongwer of Waltham, MA and Michael Gongwer of Cambridge, Massachusetts; his stepchildren, Dan Hilbert (Linda) of Corbin, Nancy Beaman (Pete) of Richmond, Emily Hilbert of Newburgh, Joe Hilbert (Stephanie) of Richmond and Susan McVicar of Henderson, Kentucky; and his close friend Miss Misty Kitty. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; cousins.
