He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carter and Ruth Stott Carter; his wife Janice E. Hildreth Carter; his son Brett Carter; and his granddaughter Melanie Loesch.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Stars-Loesch (Stephen) of Indianapolis and Shannon Carter-Carpenter of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren, Becky De Jesus (Joel), Scott E. Stars (Mandy), Evan M. Stars (Jenny) and Corey Carpenter (Alyssa); his great grandchildren, Kennedy Grace Stars, Emery Renee Stars, Mekenzie De Jesus, Maggie Wallace, Riley Wallace and Hudson Michael Stars; and his brother-in-law Robert Hildreth of Richmond. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
